Lodz is the true capital of street art in Poland, offering one of the largest outdoor urban galleries in the country. The walls of many of the city's buildings are adorned with extraordinary murals that create a vibrant and dynamic art space. Artists who have contributed to this unique landscape include established Polish artists such as Proembrion, M-City and Etam, as well as international stars such as Osgemeos, Eduardo Kobra, Inti, Aryz and Remed.
Murals in Lodz have been created for years, mainly as part of the Urban Forms Gallery Festival and previously the International Graffiti Festival. These huge works of art are not limited to traditional graffiti; the city is also a place where on the walls of buildings you can see various art installations made of unusual materials, such as rods, car parts, mirror fragments and even moss.
It is worth noting one of the first modern murals in Lodz, painted by the Lodz art group Design Futura in 2001 at 152 Piotrkowska St. This mural, for a time the largest graffiti in the world, was entered in the Guinness Book of World Records and is an important point in the history of urban street art.
