Łódź Avenue of the Stars
The Avenue of the Stars of the Łódź Walk of Fame is a unique place in Łódź that commemorates outstanding figures of Polish cinema. Located on Piotrkowska Street, between 6 Sierpnia and Traugutta Streets and in the Rubinstein Passage, the Avenue is the Polish equivalent of Hollywood's “Walk of Fame.”
The first star was unveiled by Andrzej Seweryn, a well-known actor and actor playing one of the leading roles in Andrzej Wajda's “Promised Land,” who has strong ties to Lodz. Soon after, Wojciech Pszoniak, Daniel Olbrychski and director Andrzej Wajda also unveiled their stars. The avenue now has more than 65 stars, which are spread out on both sides of the street: on the even side are the stars of directors and cinematographers, and on the odd side are the stars of actors.
The Avenue of the Stars of the Lodz Road of Fame is not only a tribute to filmmakers, but also a tourist attraction that attracts film lovers from all over the world.
