
Piotrowska Street
Piotrkowska Street, is the heart of Lodz and one of the longest commercial streets in Europe, measuring about 4.2 kilometers. It is known for its beautiful historic townhouses, which represent a variety of architectural styles, from Classicism to Art Nouveau. Many of these buildings are the former residences of Lodz's factory owners, such as the Tenement House under Gutenberg and Juliusz Heinzl's Palace. Piotrkowska is also the center of Lodz's cultural life, full of art galleries, museums, theaters and numerous restaurants and cafes. It is the site of many cultural events, such as the Light Move Festival.
